With Toolox forged diameters you can produce everything from axles, engine and hydraulic components, to extrusion dies having very high strength properties. Toolox 44 is unique on the market for its hardness level and will be available in diameters from 60 to 380 mm. Also new is the availability of Toolox in sawed blanks having widths between 300 and 600 mm in thickness from 20 to 130 mm.
Forged round bar material in Toolox Toolox is a modern quenched and tempered tool and engineering steel, delivered with guaranteed and measured mechanical properties. The use of a pre-hardened steel enables shorter mould/die/component manufacturing time as the heat treatment has already been carried out by SSAB. These valuable properties reduce risk, lower costs and shorten the time taken for mould/die manufacturing. Residual stresses in Toolox are exceptionally low thereby minimizing distortion after machining, and completely eliminating the need for secondary machining after heat treatment on conventional steels. The very high steel cleanliness (close to ESR) makes Toolox ideal for polishing and texturing.
